Macau 28-Feb-2009

First time travel in Macau. With a map in hand with small change to get the bus, it is very easy to get around the place. The buses are very cheap and convenient. Casinos are providing free shuttle bus, ask around then you won't have to pay more for the taxi.

The famous uncompleted St. Paul's Church - 大山巴牌坊.

The earlier outlook of the St Paul's Church.

Just beside the ruined church is a ford where the canons lie. A fake ship alike model at the ford.
Aiming at Lisboa Hotel and Casino 葡京酒店, ready to fire....hehehe

All the way to the St Paul's Church, there are plenty of stalls around. Portugese egg tarts can be easily find anywhere, however the size is much smaller than what we usually have.

Another must try is the BBQ meat. Free tasting, great variety.

At the Lisboa Casino Lobby, a 200 carat diamond... bigger than my ear hole.

Wow.. the "Bronze Horse Head of Haiyantang in The Summer Palace" 圆明园海晏堂水力钟马首铜像.
Another new happening place for Casino, hotel, shopping --> The Venetian. This is the 不夜天food court.

He Yuan 河源 14&15-Feb-2009

He Yuan is a town for the Hakka people in China. So, I get to enjoy much of the Hakka delicacies in this trip. The tourism is mostly at the rural area, a big contrast with its happening city.

Deer farm, known to be having about 200 dears at the other side of the mountain which is more remote and suitable for them, and I could only see 3 of them in the information/sales office for deer products. The dears are reared for their staghorn and pilose, and the horn will be cut off every twice a year.

Boat ride at one of the largest man-made lake in China, 万绿湖.

The day was misty, and low water level due to no rainfalls for the past few months.

One of the reason to attract more tourist is the temple that can be accessed by boat.

A visit to the old Hakka Style village house. Part of it had been isolated and only for visits, some parts still occupied by locals.

This is real! Sundried vegetables. Wanna try?

As the Chinese New Year not long ago, still can see the red banners and even some firecrackers around.

They were the master and mistress of the richest person in the village, and the house owner.

A lucky charm arranged by stone.

Guess what is it?

Every night, this water fountain will operate for about half an hour. Beautiful and brings breeze to cool the night.

桂山(Gui Shan), one of the national park in HeYuan.

Swing Swing swing..... haha.. so fun....

Performance by the native. Whuah.... can dry the hair while dancing.

The guys performance were more risk taking... like this.. let the fire pass thru the pants.

Can hear the sizzling sound when he lick at the burning stones.....Szzssszzzz

Souvenir from the native.... ermm... will the birds lay their eggs inside??

Cameron Highland - 20-July-2008 - Day 2

Check out the beautiful man-made scenery of tea plantation behind me.

Early morning, we drive through the narrow winding road to the BOH Tea Centre at Sungei Palas. The person in charge for reforestration program then send us to the destination using another van as the road is harder to drive.

Here we are. Need to do some hiking. Unlike Mount Kinabalu, this is rarely visited and the path is full of grass even though there's helpers to clear it from time to time.
Demonstation on how to plant the TEATREE.
Hey, I plant a few trees, hope got chance to come and see it grows one day. Kim Chuan's trees planted a few months ago still can be seen and already grown higher.

Group photos after the not so hard hardwork. :)
Next visit is the famous Mossy Forest. The humidity is very high, hence the trees and ground are filled with moss. Even the ground are soft as it is made by layers of decomposs. This is believed to be the biggest mossy forest in Malaysia. Yet, I think it just cover a very small area.
Here, you can travel between Pahang and Perak in miliseconds, even both at the same time.
After the trip, we back to the BOH Tea Centre again to enjoy a cup of fresh brew tea in this glass restaurant. Nice..........

Cameron Highland - 19-July-2008 - Day 1

Charity day

Got up about 5am, after final packing leave at 6.30am to Subang Jaya to meet the rest, but then get lot around Subang for about 20mins, yet I am not the last to reach. :P Well, only 7 of us and divided into 2 cars.

First stop was Bidor Chicken Biscuit restaurant for breakfast break. Then we headed to Hutan Rekreasi Kuala Woh, near Tapah, before start the journey up the hill. Beautiful morning, and this river has some hot spot. I was with my jeans and sports shoes, not convenient to give a leg a nice hot water bath lo.

Next station, the waterfall on the way up to tanah rata. Forgot to get the name for the waterfall, should be something like Air Terjun Iskandar. Just drop by awhile for photo session, then we moved on. The last time I went to Cameron Highland was Dec 1999, about 9 years already. My impression was the road not as nice as what we are having now.

Here's the Cameron Tea. Cheers!

Lunch at "the T Cafe" which KC recommended as having the best scones in Cameron Highland. Nice. This cafe is just on top of Marry Brown at Tanah Rata.

Here's where we stayed, Anthulum Apartment. a duplex unit with 3 rooms, enough for 8 person.

After a short break and nap, we visited the Training Centre for Children and Adults with Special Needs. We had donated some money to buy them toys and food for tea breaks. KC and Gloria also had planned some simple games. After the break, we plan to have some dance session, but the kids are not so active in the song prepared by KC. The teacher said they have their own music and they had music session every week also. To our surprise, the songs are clubbing song!with the boom boom music. They all dance so happily and we joined the crowds. Haha.... when is the last time I been for clubbing? About 3 years ago??
Attendance list... not the mask but the one on right hand side. They are educated in Malay Language.

Art work from the special kids.
Tea break session.
Work from Gardening session. They were thought by farmers on how to plant. We bought a few as the donation to them. In fact it is much cheaper than selling outside. :)
Then, we went to Brinchang Saturday night market. Plenty of fresh fruits and vege. Since we will be eating out tonight, then just bought some back to KL.

Creative use of Cabbage.
