Sabah, Kota Kinabalu - Day 4 (27-June-2008)

Hot and Cold day

Left Nort Borneo Cabin and went to a market to buy souvenir. Forgot the name of the market, only know that we can see the Mount K from here, but the stuff is really cheaper than other place. My principle of travel is only buy for myself and the fridge, so no souvenir for the rest, even my mother. Hope you all understand lar. Got a fridge magnet, t-shirt, jewelery box and a beach batik cloth.

Then about 1 and half hour of trip to the Poring Hotspring. We went for the tree top hanging bridge prior to soaking in the Hotspring in the middle of the day. Naughty me, jump on the bridge to make the girl in front of me to yell.... hahahhaha.... I used to be like that also. :P Even though it sounds absurd to get into hotspring pool at 12 noon, it turns out to be quite relaxing also.
Luckily there's "pondok" for the hotpool.

On the way to the Market, there was a banner hanging outside a kampung house that there is a Rafflesia grown nearby. The locals are really good in making money with this odd flower. Each of us got to pay about RM12 to view the flower. Since maybe once in a lifetime and paid in RM and not EURO, still fine lar. Contribute to our beloved country lo.
Thanks to this 4WD truck to send us up the hill to see the odd flower.
Next stop was to pack food for dinner at the Cameron-alike place, Kundasang Market. Cool air with nice vegetable farm view.

Only take photo at the entrance of Kundasang War Memorial and then we proceed to Masilau resort. We were running out of time as we took much time for the Rafflesia.

Overnight at Masilau Resort, 8 peoples in a small room without heater. No heater for sleep is still fine, during shower, there is even no water heater!! This is a very nice resort, suitable for steamboat/BBQ. However, we only have fried rice with fried eggs for dinner. The place is so cold that the water boiled can be cool off naturally pretty fast. We all slept fairly early to prepare for tomorrow's hiking.
